I don't know why but I'm not in the blogging mood, at all, lately. I feel some times it takes too much time and then other times I feel like it's worth it to keep family updated. And to have stuff all written down.
Our Vacation to Connecticut:
Saturday 11th-day one: Woke up at 4am left by 5:30am and drove 16 hours all the way there! We were all tired of driving and, well, just plain tired.
Sunday, day two: Went to Sacrament meeting. Slept. Pool time, a time to relax.
Monday, day three: Berry picking at the cutest berry farm ever, Called Rose's U-Pick Farm! C felt a little sick and stayed home to rest up more. He did most of the driving so he deserved a day of rest with out the kids around.
Tuesday, day four: We toured Down Town Hartford. Both Kim and Tyler came along with C, me and the kids. We packed a picnic and played at a park. We self toured the State capitol Building which was awesome! Came home and slept.
Wednesday, day Five: We went out to a cool house that was build in the early 1800's Called Gillette Castle. It was the house of Mr. Gillette ( I can't remember his first name, he was an actor who played Sherlock Holmes) He built his house to look like an old cobble stone castle. We walked around the outside (didn't tour the inside) and then played down by the river and took a ferry across.
Thursday, day six:It rained most of the day we played Tennis in the morning. Kim and Tyler against me and C, they won :( It was fun! The kids had an OK time, they don't like being abandoned in the courts next to us. They wanted to join us. We lazed around the rest of the day. I think I went and shopped and went to the library with Kim and E. Then my Mom came in really late at night. We stayed up and talked, too late of course.
Friday, day seven:My favorite day.... we went to the Atlantic ocean in Maryland (almost two hour drive) It was worth the drive. It was a really crowded beach but still fun. I have not been to the ocean since I was little and it was the Pacific Ocean. I have never been to the Atlantic. It was so fun to play in the waves like a little kid. The kids loved it too! We stayed there for a few hours and then headed home and lazed around the rest of the evening.
Saturday, day eight: We woke up as early as we could which I think was 8am. Left for Palmyra NY and got there some time after lunch. We did the Church History sites, the Smith log home, the farm, the sacred grove etc. The Hill Camorah Pageant was going on but we could not stay for it. We had to make it to Rochester, NY and find a hotel to sleep in. We got to our DUMP of a hotel by 9 pm or so. It was gross but we didn't care we were tired.
Sunday day nine: We got up early-ish headed to Buffalo NY to take a pit stop at Niagara Falls. That is pretty much what we did, stop look at the falls get back in and drive all the way home. We got in late, I mean early Monday morning at like 1am. Poor C had to go to clinic that morning but came home for a nap.
Whew that was a lot of typing! It was a fun, eventful, lazy, just long enough trip/vacation. I'm glad we got to see the Church sites and visit family. Pictures to come, on the next post. I will try and get them up today.

A Birthday wish from the Harkers
Well we are back from our fun family adventure out East. It was fun to be with Family (my sister Kim and her hubby and we crossed paths with my mom for a day). We have lots to tell about the things we saw and did there. More posts to come.
I'm just going to brag, now for a bit about our cute kids....Can I just say that my kids are amazing travelers?! Okay so I already said it. I'm so grateful to have kids that don't mind driving 16 hours in one day! They were amazing! E has always been a good traveler but I was worried more about my J boy. He did great with on a few times of whinniness and then he'd usually just fall asleep after he got a little cranky. They were both little angles (almost) the whole time, it was a blessing for sure! Okay I'm done bragging for now.
I actually wanted to write on here to wish my Mother-in-Law a Happy Birthday. I feel terrible that I was distracted on her birthday yesterday and forgot to put this up on her actual birthday, as we are still settling down from our vacation (and me from camp as well).
We love Grandma Celia around here! When I mentioned to the kids it was Grandma's birthday they both got so excited! J said "I want to sing happy birthday to the grandma!" yes, for some reason he called her "the grandma". He loves to sing that song when ever he gets the chance, I think he thinks every time he sings it he gets to blow out candles and eat cake, I wonder why he'd think that ;) E asked "Is she coming to our house today for her birthday?!" Sadly no, but they still think back a few months back when Grandma and Grandpa came out to visit them, they loved it! They want them to come again, they also want my parents to come out (hint hint) they love to host guests.
Know that we love you Mom/Grandma, we miss you and we can't wait for the day to come when we can live closer to you and visit you often. We wish we could have been there to help celebrate your birthday with you.
And J boy got his chance to sing to you, here ya go......
